Nos installations

The research infrastructure of TransBIOTech is located in the technological complex of Cégep de Lévis-Lauzon. These facilities, built in two phases from 2002 to 2010, are valued at nearly $10 million and are fully dedicated to applied research and services for biotechnology companies working in the field of life sciences. Laboratories of molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, cell culture, analytical chemistry and high performance freezing units, (-80°C and -150°C) are available to the scientific team. An animal facility for small rodents, accredited by the Canadian Council on Animal Protection is also available to perform the experimental protocols of the center's researchers or companies. Laboratories meet the containment 2 standards of Health Canada.

Over the years, the research center obtained equipment at the cutting edge of technology in various sectors of life sciences. Here are, classified by sector, some equipment and facilities available to our team of scientists:

Pharmacology sector

  • ventilated cages
  • metabolic cages
  • irradiation unit with UVA and UVB
  • system for preparation and staining of histological sections

Chemistry sector

  • ultra high pressure liquid chromatograph (UPLC)
  • high pressure liquid chromatograph (HPLC)
  • our HPLC and UPLC are coupled to the following detection modes:
    • tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS)
    • mass spectrometry (MS)
    • refractive index detector (RID)
    • evaporative light scattering detector (ELS)
    • diode array detector (PDA)
    • fluorescence detector (FLD)
  • gas chromatography (GC) coupled to the following detection modes:
    • mass spectrometry (MS)
    • flame ionization detector (FID)

Biology sector
